The ground under college football just shook big time

Players can now do ads and make apparel deals and can hire an agent to help with finding endorsements. Agents will be working hand in glove with huge corporate interests to steer players to schools where they will get maximum national exposure.

Schools wanting to maximize the $ the kids make before they go off to the pros could separate from those offering less money in college with a real education.
Or, student/players might make enough in college to satisfy themselves or pay for schoolyears so they could forgo the pros and stay for years 4/5 rather than leaving after 3. ND might particularly benefit from this.

College sports will change, if this passes and I don't believe for the better.

Yes, at least it allows all players to make some money and stop the NCAA from making a mint off them while contributing little to the overall equation. But there will only be maybe a dozen players in a given year that will make anything more than date night money.

boosters really care.

Texas A&M, Texas, Auburn, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

Maybe even Arkansas and we could even see SMU rise from the ashes with this new pay for play.

Yep, SMU kind of wrote the book on it.

The full BOD and Texas regents were in on the payoffs. Other notables, of course, include USC and Alabama. Miami #TheU was the best as their payoffs not only involved money, but also involved drugs, whores (#Hoes), abortions, celebrity parties, yacht rides, resort vacations, and payment for 'hits'...

Great for schools like USC, ND, Bama, TX and other nationally recognized schools/teams

This will take away from smaller market schools/teams like Purdue, Cal, WSU as the bigger names in highschool will
gravitate to the biggest market schools.

And I wonder - will high school student athletes (and their families) be promised into certain schools because they can be promoted
by a product like Nike. Nike can pay the parents for their fine sons and daughters to go to Oregon?
Under Armor for Notre Dame paying High School students and parents for promised national recognition? I'm all for that but is
this going to be a good idea? No. It's a bad move and somehow the NCAA has got to have their fingers in the pie or should I say
those Muckety Mucks who run the NCAA do.

that will pay for "Likeness"

10k for every player on a post game win team poster
25K for a TD or sack poster
50k for a forced turnover poster

They are going to use comparative promoters to determine values.

For example, if Dak Prescott gets $5,000 to be in a commercial for a local car dealer then a college kid can’t get $10,000.

This won’t change much. Teams that were cheating will continue to cheat. Those that weren’t will have a fighting chance now.

How will the non-compensated players respond to the "bonus babies" in the flashy cars, bitchin' cribs and lots of spending cash?

Will an O lineman tell a QB or RB "I won't block for you next time and you might get injured if you don't have the dealership throw me a car too"?

The NCAA sucks and the system has been crooked for too long...but this will end it eventually.

The NFL should have a minor league and colleges should only play student-athletes who wish to get a degree...

Realize it's a pipe dream...but still what I'd like to see.

very sad but should be some goooood football. If it helps the XFL get bigger in some way i like the idea of the competition at both levels for TV, players(drafts), and the way the leagues present themselves.

In in some ways, is could reducea lot of things i don't like about the game out of the ncaa version (shitalking, some bad cheapshots, off field issues and whatnot)

The NFL having a minor league is the best long term solution. The good attribute of the G league for Basket Ball players is that it levels the playing field for non-elite schools. No longer will a team be able to have a great team based upon a few high caliber players.

As pointed out what will happen is that boosters will funnel money to business ss establishments to pay desired players.
