Oops. Reggie Brooks never caught that two-point conversion

Great game, 1992 ND/Penn State. But on the two-point conversion, the ball clearly bounced off the turf as Brooks was catching it. Good thing there was no instant replay review back then.

I said the same thing to myself while watching it last night. I believe CC said the very same thing.

The replay is what CC commented on immediately. So, in today's "review" game that one could have gone either way but looked inconclusive. With that, ND wins, eat me Paterno!

It did not "clearly bounce off the turf"

Three Penn State players were right there when Brooks caught it. If it "clearly bounced" don't you think that maybe at least one of them would have reacted as such?

So would Paterno.

It clearly bounced on the slo-mo replay, as fuzzy at was with the camera technology back then.

Please. “As fuzzy as the camera technology was back then”...it clearly bounced off the turf?...

Did you watch the slow motion replay?

In real time the first time it looked like a catch. On the slow motion replay, the ball clearly hit the turf. And when I said fuzzy, I didn't mean indecipherable.

Thread Level: 6

Sure did and I still think you’re seeing things. No offense intended

What's important is that Paterno and Sandusky took an L that day. They're both burning in Hell now.

What makes me ill is we outplayed them in 1981, 1982, 1983, 1986, 1987 and lost those by bad

calls and no replay. We were outplaying them badly in 1990 and would have cinched the game had not Andre Jones dropped a pick six when we were still up big and dominating. And Rocket did not play the second half of the 1990 game due to a hamstring strain. Thank God that was ruled a catch in 1992. In 1982 we were pushing them around but Ken Karcher could not complete a pass that day and they made a big play when the game was close with a little pass to their tailback that went for 50 yards. If you had watched that game though we were literally dominating the line of scrimmage in their national championship year. The others I mentioned we dominated even more. Blair Kiel cost us 1983 with a punt of about 12 yards that would have made them drive the length of the field if he hit it 40, and they scored with I think 12 seconds remaining. We had about 600 yards that game as Pinkett went wild and Bavaro was stopped on a pass at the goal line at the end of the first half by a 5'7" defensive back that probably would have been ruled a touchdown with replay. We ran a QB sneak the play after that and Beuerlein was probably in too.
