Or if some strange shit like 2012 happens AND K State doesn’t lose their last game. Then, maybe. That’s the kind of luck that would be needed.

Maybe if major advertisers and player agents conspire together to send us the elites recruits.

As of today, Southern academic institutions (sic) and OSU are effectively the NFL's developmental league. ND is no longer an optimal venue for those aspiring for riches via this path. The NCAA is opening a huge loophole to allow players to profit from their college performances. ND remains the primary marketing vehicle for national advertisers. Put two and two together. For those who might blanch at the notion of ND forsaking academic purity... let's not forget who was our first All American and how Gipp was not exactly a stellar scholar.

Almost no academic record exists for Da Gipper...

He was nearly 26 when he died, making him a lot older than traditional college students. I'm thinking he might have played at another college under an alias. It's obvious Gipp was at ND because he was an hellacious athlete, and no more..,

A new head coach and AD are needed before one can even entertain competing for a championship.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

Fair article. ND has been resting on its laurels for way too long.
