If just a couple players test positive... they would miss 14 days in quarantine?

What about the rest of the team. This could lead to a very disruptive season

I’m guessing no one has thought about this.

Well, there was a college season during the Spanish Influenza in 1918

But we will not have one, I bet. Even though the Wuhan is WAY less dangerous than the Spanish, society today is far more risk averse. If you let players play and fans voluntarily attend, you will be accused of killing everyone else. ND doesn’t seem like a place that would be willing to undergo that.

half the season was cancelled in 1918.

they played six games. I guess they were left wing pussies back then.

Depends on the attitude of the nation by then

Here is the reality, we have to learn to live with this thing. And yes, that means people will get it and some will die. This is everything in life and even those this is new and top of mind, eventually the public will come to grips with it. Will it be fall? That is TBD.

We will be lucky to get a vaccine in the next few years if ever. That needs to be tempered.

Treatments are going to come along that will decrease death rates and the uncomfortableness of the sickness. That should give people more confidence.

Judging by the past few weeks, people are ready to
move forward. The virus will remind us its still here and we will have to take a step back and get back to being smarter. Mask, hand washing, distancing, etc. But my guess is by fall the nation is comfortable and trained enough to want to move forward with sports.

Time will tell

In 1918 scientists couldn't even see viruses.

I'm with Fauci, unless football is done on a bubble, it's not going to work.

If star players test positive during the season and miss 2 weeks, it will damage the product beyond repair.

could come back at anytime. How do you play a schedule if a future opponent is in quarantine.

Yep, I do not believe this season will actually happen.

It may start, but after a few games, it should all fall apart.

Imagine heading into the Clemson game, Book and the starting oline test positive and are quarantined.

That would be fun.
