You may remember the argument for Miami in 89 was the head to head matchup carried the most weight

And then that logic went in the opposite direction in 1993.

People make these things up as they go.

Miami kicked the shit out of ND in 89.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

I will have nightmares of 3rd & 44 until my last day on this earth.

I was there in the Orange Bowl that day.

It would have been 17-13 at the half, had Lou not used BIlly Hackett

That field goal was right in Craig Hentrich's sweet spot area, and I still to this date, question why Holtz was resorting to using Billy Hackett.

Our defense was holding Miami in check, and held them to 10 offensive points at the halftime. The pick 6 by Tony Rice was the first of two big mistakes that killed us.

The other one was the 2nd half 3rd and 44, where Craig Erickson and Randall Hill beat Stan "Toast" Smagala and Pat Terrell to convert.

3rd and 44 is ths only thing I remember.

That and the BC kick in 93 are the most deflating moments for me as a ND fan.

Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it tries to silence good.

That's my understanding.
