I can't remember enjoying watching replays of blocking this much.

Opening gargantuous holes, blasting linebackers before they can close on a runner, picking up blitz's, hitting d backs downfield. We might not have college football's most glamorous stars but good god are we fundamentally sound.

A sign of good coaching but we do have some playmakers and strong leadership. Mayer,

Williams, Book with his feet, Tyree he plays, Davis on occasion, Skowronek and McKiinley all made key plays on third down to get the first down and for leaders, Williams again, Book and Tremble, the line. On defense Foskey and finally some from Hayes, Koromoah of course and Hamilton.

What a big difference it makes having Tremble as a blocker

So many times he picks up the guy flying in untouched off the edge and springs things. Great job by him and great designs.

Williams was incredible cleaning up the blitz. He is one of the toughest players I've seen.

Agreed. Perhaps that alone earned him his FIFTH star? He's quite a package of talent and grit. Love

Yes, agree. Phenominal job by Williams. Was just referring to the new run game working better.

Indeed...he's not only effective, but he really seems to enjoy it.

He didn't just get in the way of blitzers...he stopped them cold.

Very sound. I don't know if #24 is an every down NFL TE but he will be suiting up on Sundays.

Should we revisit whoever was bitching about lack of NFL talent yesterday afternoon?

Tremble is more of the "H-back" player

Not as much of a standalone, play on the line / run pass routes TE, but more of the H-Back. You're not going to see many teams these days in the NFL (or college) using a pure fullback the way that you had a Tony Page, Tom Rathman, William Floyd, Calwell Gardner, etc., type of player.

If anything, looking at the way the Eagles used Herschel Walker in 1993, was a foreshadowing of things to come. I still think they wasted his talent by not letting him be more of a runner...

The good news is, that most teams have shifted away from using a pure fullback in favor of using H-Backs, and that will pretty much give Tommy Tremble plenty of opportunities to shine in the NFL.

Chiefs do. Not typical though.

And I think the offense found something last night. Book hung in the pocket and took some shots downfield and had success. I have a feeling Davis has a great back half of the season.

Get Lenzy right and suddenly we may have more than enough big plays in the bank to add in with our run game.
