how they can pick up a PI flag and waive it off? Never seen it before. Like changing a strike to a ball

True, but the roughing call right before that on Ian was a bad call.
It wiped out the holding penalty on us and gave us a 1st down. It was a bad call that helped us.

Yeah, any call can pretty much be waved off
I've seen holding calls, clipping calls, even false start calls, etc., be waved off because one referee got shouted down by the others.
It wasn't really a surprise about the PI call getting waved off. Dabo was jumping up and down while screaming at the referee, and I suppose they don't want to piss him off...
Other than tipped balls, it's the type of shit you only see in the pig house.
