She was told to do that in order to avoid the possibility of any physical contact. She quickly exited the field stage left as soon as she did her kick. This fact alone puts the lie to any claim that she "played" in a Div. 1 football game. I don't blame the woman: she's as much a victim of dystopian ideology as anything in this macabre tableau.
And why did she need a holder?

Doubt students are on campus, so it’s not like they could even hold tryouts for any former high school kickers who are students there now.
This bold spectacle should earn Vandy's coach a 5-yr extension. All ND fans should demand it.
Clark Lea accepting a potential offer to coach his alma mater would be a kick in the face of this bold spectacle.
When you suck as badly as Vandy this year, you have to do something to keep the fan base even
