Urban Meyer to Texas?

Fits his modus operandi perfectly. Great recruiting venue, weak conference, high media visibility and no Saban. Best of all... Austin is much cooler place to live than Columbus, Gainesville or Salt Lake City.

I wonder if that locale would be approved by Mrs. Meyer after what went on in Florida.

I am more concerned about Clark Lea.

After the Cuse game, have a sit down with Clark and tell him that he will get paid what the other elite DCs are making. Don't wait for him to get a HC offer. Do it asap. And no, do not offer a HC in waiting scenario. Things can change. Just pay the man.

How do you know he's not getting paid at that level now

I don't, but, he came in as an untested DC, so wouldn't the pay scale match his unproven resume as a DC? Now, he's elite big time. Pay the man.

Would you want to jump back to coaching during a pandemic? Me thinks not!

I doubt Urban would jump back into coaching until all of this uncertainty fades. He has a nice gig in Television.

Since I do scientific research on diseases, I can provide a very accurate diagnosis of his situation.

Urban Meyer suffers from various ailments, such as thuggery, academic dishonesty, and rampant criminal activity among his mercenaries, er, players. Normally, these ailments don't bother him one bit, unless an extenuating factor is introduced in the way of disciplinary scrutiny.

Once scrutiny has been introduced into his system, the ailments begin to overwhelm him. This can be temporarily alleviated by his producing exceptionally good seasons, and national championships can help postpone the increasing of the disciplinary scrutiny. Eventually, though, the scrutiny cannot be held back, and he simply disappears from the coaching scene, which results in his getting a clean slate.

Given the amount of time that has progressed since his last abandonment of the coaching scene, I'm pretty sure he's gotten a reset of his health, and will feel fine until the next wave of scrutiny hits him.
