Gives Davie an extension then the next year fires him after the 2001 mess, follows it up with the Oleary fiasco
then brings in willingham and weis. Not to mention his buyout costs for all three culminated with weis arguably the worst of the four
He actually wanted to keep willingham until Father Jenkins intervened.

Malloy did his best to kill the program, followed by comical mistakes subsequently. Brian Kelly has take 10 years to be close to the coach we wanted when he was hired.
Jacko and Jenks are mediocre stewards.
Kelly has performed to the University
Football standard winning percentage.
He may get a NC. But not because of Jacko and Jenks.

You lay the blame at the wrong feet.
They did beat us that year, after all... To me, that's significant enough, given that we were at the lowest point in the Brian Kelly era, and enough was enough.
I don't foresee that ever happening again, unless Brian Kelly re-hires Brian Van Gorder and Paul Longo...
That being said, the 2016 Duke team was much better than their 4-8 record would indicate. They took out a pretty good UNC team (ranked top 20 at the time), and came close to knocking off ranked Va. Tech and ranked Louisville teams. Except for those two last games they lost against Pitt and Miami, they could have easily been a 9 win team with just a couple of breaks going their way.
