Was in jail, but likely to post bail.

He was later arrested, though. He was formally arraigned this morning and was in jail with bail set. The charge is a misdemeanor, so I imagine someone will post bond.

I doubt that even Urban Meyer would want him on a team. Nobody needs another Aaron Hernandez...
He just pissed away any scholarship opportunities.

Hard to know exactly where the blame lies beyond the young man himself, who is responsible for his actions. It was reported that he had previously been suspended from the soccer team over a "similar incident," and he was considered a "star player" on the football team. I'm certainly speculating, but maybe this young man wasn't held accountable because he was a good player. If that is the case, there is blame to spread around. But, again, I'm reading between the lines here. Looks like some of it will get sorted out in the courts.
I imagine that young man's family lives in daily fear of him. Kid needs serious counseling.

I think it is more likely he has mental problems than that his parents raised him to do things like that. And, you have to consider: Can his parents (assuming there are two) afford the cost of therapy, etc.? Maybe not.
Of course, none of the excuses we can come up for him excuse him from going to jail. He has to be held personally responsible in the end.
