What a difference a year makes.
Yesterday koresam asked posters to share what has surprised them most about the Irish this season. Elicited lots of good responses. Went back to a year ago and found the linked thread from 12/3/19 — asking about predictions for 2020. Mixed predictions, but certainly some pessimism. Different feel now to the board. Winning, especially against Clemson, really changed the tenor.

Yikes.
It just amazes me how a coach like Herman of Texas was thought of being the next great coach and we
should go after him. Now Texas does not even want him. Thank God we did not give up on Kelly because of a bunch of know it alls about football saying there were better choices out there including Herman.
I was a big proponent of giving Kelly 2.0 two or three years to see how it would work out
And got laughed at.
To be fair, an awful lot has changed in that year...

Your take in that thread was good.
The improvements you focused on as necessary track with the improvements we’ve seen this year that have made the team excellent in 2020.

So michiganirish was the only one that thought we would
be good, many were ambivalent about our chances, and just like the Open board, Chris94 spews his complete lack of knowledge regarding anything football. Go figure
