They already have Kiner, Bradford, and Emery on the roster, and ready to go.
1) He doesn't see a starting role for 3 years with Kyren Williams at ND
2) ND is making headway with Edwards or some other back.
Diggs is a local kid that LSU didn't offer . . . until now. LSU already has a top RB in the class. Coveted 4* Corey Kiner. I wonder if Kiner is getting cold feet at the last minute, maybe. I had not heard anything like that. Last I knew, Kiner was going to enroll early at LSU. That said, something is going on down in the Rouge.

LSU can offer him a scholarship regardless of whether he is a “true commit” or not.
Something is going on down there.
LSU wasn't exactly that forthcoming when they put in their "self-imposed bowl ban for 2020" press release.
That being said, though, it's also possible that they can see the same thing that we saw, that Diggs is highly underrated, especially as a back who can do it all (run with power, good speed, strength, and good in the passing game). Some of the folks on the LSU board were saying that LSU is looking at him as a linebacker.
Seems very late in the game for them to suddenly get involved, though, with just a week until early signing day. With Gilbert not only not only opting out of the season (as numerous other LSU players have already done), but threatening to leave the team . . . it raises questions. There are rumors of other possible defections too. I don't know obviously what the bottom line is, but there is smoke coming out of Baton Rouge.
Hopefully, he is wise enough to stay away from it.
