Should ACC cancel CG to avoid the “we don’t want to see same game a 3rd time” argument?

We have all seen the corruption of the CFP committee and it’s arbitrary, ever-changing line of reasoning. We have also seen the head of that committee, a B1G AD who has worked to get his conference included using his influence.

There is nothing for either ND nor Clemson to gain.....the winner will be beaten up just before facing a fresh OSU who plays a high school team in its joke of a championship game.

Declare them co-champions. Blame COVID. Take both to the CFP.

Co-Champions will seem a slight to ND which haters will love.

Get 2 teams to the CFP by any means necessary.

A rematch would be excellent, in the CFP.

Why beat yourself up before then?

That's not bad if we are still the number 2 seed and Clemson is 4. Bama gets Clemson and we get

You are right in your logic but there are 12 days between ACC championship and first semi final game

It isn't fair but I am not worried about it being a factor, unless of course there is a critical injury.

Thread Level: 3

That is what i am referring to...the injury that doesn't get better & allow practice in 12 days.

Dem are the rules, you agree to join a conference, you abide by the rules, no matter how short your membership may be.. Also no matter if its a rematch of a regular season game, or a possible third game awaits Thats what you sign up for, let the chips fall where they may be
Now if the powers that be cancel the game, I also have no problem, PROVIDED all title games are cancelled, and the CFP Committee picks the final 4 teams based on the regular season..Lets face it, in most yrs, you can pick the 4 teams without regard to the extra title game; its played for money only Take last yr, LSU, OSU, OU, Clemson were the 4 teams going into the title games, and emerged as the 4 teams..

Thread Level: 3

The angst isn't from the team. The players aren't going to cancel. Its the conf. that would want to

to poll the ND players about whether they want a chance to participate in their one and only opportunity at a conference championship game?

Also, 12 days = "just before", especially when it will be only the 2nd game in almost 4 weeks?

ND would have their conference championship by winning it in the regular season

conf championship game?

Every player when asked would be willing to play, but they would still play in a bigger venue.

I guarantee you that all of the players on both team would not want to miss out on the CFP which will happen to Clemson if they lose, and to ND if they claim that they don't want to see the game 3 times....and they WILL say this, just watch.

That means their ticket sales were canceled. The game will be played with a limited number of fans

The ACC released an update on its ticketing procedures Wednesday, saying that fans will receive an automatic refund for tickets purchased through a public channel. Tickets for the game went on sale through the ACC’s official ticketing partner, Ticketmaster, in the fall before the conference knew what state regulations would be in place at the time of the championship, or which teams would be in the game.

Sites like StubHub, Vivid Seats and SeatGeek are considered third-party sellers for the event, while Ticketmaster is the conference’s official ticketing partner. As of Thursday, however, all sites posted a similar message: “No tickets available.”

about OSU; it doesn't matter how many games you play if we think you pass the eye test.

Thread Level: 3

Yes, there is no upside to either team or the conference to play the game& the system is corrupt.

We will play Clemson again when it means the most anyways.

The B1G claimed that OSU was going to be in the CG anyways as there reasoning for changing their rules to let in OSU. Well, is that not also true for ND and Clemson and the CFP?
