Ohio State is killing it in recruiting. Now has 17 top 300; 10 top 100. No way ND can keep up with

this level of talent acquisition. It's been the same with Alabama. No wonder they rarely lose. I remember the good old Holtz/Cerrato days when ND used to regularly have top rated classes.

Let's look. Heard 247 guy claim "ND maximizes its' lesser talent". Instead, could it be ND is better

at spotting the talent. Look at this list of whom Kelly chose in 2016...these were 3 stars/4stars stars according to the recruiting services.

improvement but Ian Book is now a household name, will have a career as a backup QB because of this development. He had rotten luck with Golson who played well as a redshirt freshman and would have been much improved had he not missed the season after. Zaire who was playing well until the injury. I have no explanation for Kizer's downfall other then when he fumbled his good year we always recovered and when he fumbled his last year the other team always recovered. His passes that were intercepted his last year were dropped the previous year or eliminated by penalty.

Let's give credit where credit it due! Kelly has now possibly managed to get the ND football program to a point where this often referred to mysterious "Elite Coach" may now be interested. When Kelly took over the program had been allowed to sink so low no "elite coach" had much interest in the job at any price. And they couldn't be blamed for the lack of interest. The only interest Meyer [one elite coach] had was to con an offer from ND to leverage a bigger salary from a program he had more interest in! But one coach who had established a winning record every place he coached was interested!!

Thanks Brian, for the tremendous job you have managed at ND .... and for putting up with all the crap!

Alabama and OSU are certified NFL development programs

Given the pot at this rainbow it makes perfect sense for the elite recruits to go there. It will only end if the NFL is required to drop its age restrictions and develop its own talent like the other sports.

Recruit elite OL’s and continue to develop the DL at a high level

Center the offense around the OL and ND will go toe to toe with them.

What people likely aren’t realizing is that what ND is doing this year using the OL as the focus, is with limited skill guys. Good things are on the horizon if ND continues with this model.

What separates ND's offensive front from Bama, OSU , Clemson, etc....

is our use of TEs to create a "magna" look. Of course it helps that our interior OL can go toe to toe with the best. On DL we excel because of numbers and technique- they don't get better than Lea and Elston.

ND ~50 of 300. Among FBS schools only Stanford is more difficult, ~30 top players qualify.

Bad at it so I am going to say 65% of top 300 could get into ND.
3 Out of the 17 going to OSU could get in cuz I cant stand them and think they represent Football not Student Athletes.
