Did Florida s loss today cement our spot in the CFB playoff?

I think so, had Florida beat Bama and we lost to Clemson the final four could of been Clemson, Florida, Ohio state and Bama,
I think now the four are essentially set, Clemson needs to win or hey will be replaced by Texas AM otherwise it's gonna be
Bama, Clemson ND and Ohio State,

Not if we get eaten by the Tigers. The media would love to have 1SEC, 1 ACC, Midwest & West for view

ship. Tigers if they beat us with all their players who were missing in game one, Bama, OSU & Texas A&M since USC is out of the top 10

They’ll have a win over #2 team and likely #12 to #15 team.

They’ll have 11 wins. Their only loss will be #2 in a rematch.

A&M’s best win, Florida, will be likely a 3 loss team coming off back to back losses. Florida win becomes similar to UNC win.

A&M was blown out against Alabama so even if ND is blown out, that argument will be voided.

ND is out of Clemson wins. ND needs to beat TL to be legit!

Will be looking to blow the doors off ND.

We can’t let that happen. Optics will suck if they blow us out. The other 2OT win won’t matter.

Dabo won’t run it up. 1st, he respects Kelly and ND. 2nd, it’s in his programs best interest for ND to make the playoffs too.

A&M was blown out by Alabama. Do those optics not matter? Especially since A&M has no great win. ND does. This is why there is a committee. They won’t overreact like you.

You’ll learn if you do. As always, I’m here to educate. It’s my gift to this board as the only one who’s been around this game at a high level.

Dabo won’t be trying to score up 17 late in the game. No worries those, these education sessions are free.

You're full of yourself but more importantly full of shit.

This game will either be VERY VERY close like the last one or Clemson will blow the doors off of us.

See, I have a right to an opinion just like you do.

Let's see Saturday night who is right? Deal?

Thread Level: 4

I still expect it to be close. Trevor could get hot but we should be able to keep him off the field.

Or at least slow them down. Etienne still is the key IMO.

Given the committee’s penchant for conference champions, ND is out with a loss to Clemson.

Meant for above. If you tackle any running back, especially a big one high, unless you do it early

you have little chance because of the momentum. At times like short third down plays you have to tackle them high and the only way is to hit them early. In the open field tackle low unless you are there before anyone can gain momentum.

By that logic TAMU is out too...

Maybe Cincy or USC can sneak in, or a 2 loss Big 12 champion.

I keep worrying that if we lose to Clemson, some how, we are gonna get screwed

But they are as much or more a threat to Clemson and OSU as they are to us. OSU's schedule deficiences are well known, and TAMU's bad loss to Alabama and the fact that they are not playing for the SEC title this Saturday hurt them (they did beat FU and LSU but own only 1 ranked win vs. ND's wins over 2 top teams).
UNC's epic beat down of Miami last night enhances ND's chances. Our limiting of UNC's run game to < 100 yards is one of the more impressive defensive efforts this season. Clemson's run game with their stud RB and Lawrence now back will certainly challenge us, one we gladly accept. It's good to see our Irish play a top team again this weekend.

Also, some of the luster of Texas A&M's "good win" over Florida is gone.

Still a good win, but it isn't nearly as good. And it will look less good still if Alabama pastes UF, which I think is likely. Even if UF loses and plays well against the Tide, UF is still a three-loss team at that point.
