On a not related to football post, ND has a healthy lead at the NCAA Fencing Championships

At the end of the men's half of the competition, ND has a healthy lead (+9 points which probably doesn't make sense to people who don't know how it works) over Penn State for the National Title. No other team is in the running.

Individually, ND placed 1st and 2nd in both Sabre and Foil and 2nd and 5th in Epee.

Hopefully the women can product similar results tomorrow and Sunday and ND can light up the #1 light on Grace.

It's my sport so I have to plug it.

5 (out of a possible 6) women in Final 4 bouts to determine individual National champion.

Anyone interested , you can watch the women's final 4 bouts on ESPN3

They are relatively current. I'm not sure if there is a live feed.

Get it ready? In the last 43 years ND has won 10 National Championships in fencing.

3 male and 1 female before it went co-Ed and 6 after.

Football has 2 in that time span. (Beginning in '77.)

What about ND's gender-inclusive hopscotch national championship team?

The championship match against Berkeley went into sudden death. The matches do tend to drag sometimes, though, as all preferred pronouns must be established before the first hop and the various genders may change mid-match.
