1. Blake Fisher continues to impress. Handles upperclassman and does it with ease. Like a man amongst boys.
2. Rocco Spindler seems to have spent as much time (or more) at LG as anyone. I've just started thinking that perhaps Fisher was too good to keep off the field but am now wondering if Spindler is a front runner for a guard position.
3. Are the top two's performance putting pressure on other ND offensive linemen? Tosh Baker (the heir apparent for LT) was moved to RT this practice. Boy, that's interesting. And Kelly said in his interview that Correll has only showed what he did last year and that he was not just being given the center position at this time.
4. Both Coan and Pyne throw a much nicer deep ball than Book. It will be a huge difference in our offense to have that and nice for the OL and running game.
5. Gabe Rubio is physically ready. I don't think he'll play much this year given our depth at the DT position (especially if we play a lot of three fronts), but he could turn into a monster DT when his time comes.
6. Wilkins and Keys looked great. Coan showed a lot of confidence in Wilkins fitting it in to him in very tight coverage (really nice throw also). While there is only a little you can get from 180 seconds of film, Keys' speed on the deep ball from Pyne (play of the day) is very apparent and it does look to me as if his work in the weight room has paid off. He just looks more solid overall. Given what we've seen and Kelly's comments, Austin, Lenzy, Davis, Keys and Wilkins seems to be the very probable group.
7. Both Foskey and Johnson were limping at times. Hopefully they are ok.
8. Some more creative offensive plays which is nice to see.
9. Pyne celebrates on the offensive successes he wasn't a part of...running in to congratulate and take part. What I've seen of him really gives me the impression that guy would be loved and respected as a leader on this team.
