Originally, Aylward was reported to be the offensive equivalent of Bowden. But apparently, he is going to be an analyst with likely assistant QB coaching duties. There is an offensive recruiting coordinator in Aaryn Kearney, but it appears that might not be a permanent role for him. It also appears that Chad Bowden has been on the job, unofficially, and has been forging relationships with some recruits.
Aylward interned for a year, and then was a full time offensive assistant, all with the Texans.
I like how FootballScoop says Notre Dame is a top destination for young, up and coming coaches. Whether that is true or not, if the reputation is there, it can only help with recruiting the top players.
