This is very sad news - far too young. RIP

He was my favorite
I listened to his latest podcast just yesterday. He had a great knowledge of Notre Dame football past and present and came off as a genuinely nice person. Rip Lou.

So sorry to hear this. Always seemed great. Not a hint of arrogance. Never lost his humility.

Always seemed like a great guy - he would often answer questions individually from anyone
Fifty-eight. Too young. My best goes out to his family.

Re: Rest in peace Lou Somogyi.
I emailed him a question or comment from Kuwait and not only did he respond, he sent me a free subscription. RIP.

Im shocked and saddened; had talked to and met Lou on numerous occasions;
a veritable walking encyclopedia of Notre Dame football, and all things ND..and a true gentleman, great writer
RIP, Lou -

Terrific guy. Sone called him "Rain Man" because of his total recall of ND football history
I used to play tennis with him as well. He had wicked lefty slice serve. Just a great guy all around.
