Dante Moore…think it’s time to turn the page. Traveling today and listening to lots

of recruiting info. Sensing this kid is looking for NIL more so than the right fit. I don’t fault a kid for taking his time but I do think QB is a bit different in that it often starts dominoes falling. Early commitments are vital. Think this will be a learning experience for Freeman and Rees

It makes sense that he's probably headed to Oregon, seeing how he's be in a great position to play as a true freshman.

I really like Carr a lot too. He will be special (and I’m sure Moore will be great too). If Buchner

puts it together and stays healthy , the spacing will be perfect. Great recovery by Freeman.

Learning experience? Yeah, they’re quick learners. They moved on to Carr.

Still need a qb in the 23 class. And the Moore delay has to be impacting some other offensive recrui

We have Buchner, Angeli and Pyne. Buchner is a top 100 high 4 star recruit who got a lot of experience and played well last year. Angeli looked good in the Spring and Pyne looked good in actual game time.

Buchner will be here through 23 or 24 and Carr will be here in 23 as backup for a year. And there is still a possibility that he could reclassify to 23. Angeli will have 2 years in the system before Carr gets here. We aren't deep but still have 3 QBs that should be capable for the next three years.

If July 4th comes and goes without Flores and Hanifan committing, then maybe we have an issue. I'd say it's a pretty good bet that we get both. Tate was never following Moore to ND so that doesn't really matter. And we're not pursuing any other WRs that are waiting on Moore. We have TEs, OLs and RBs, so whose waiting on Moore?

You can’t have a class without a QB if for nothing more than bench strength. The position is too

Important with too much riding on Buchner.

It's rare but, if you are just looking for depth, you can find one in the Portal...

or pick one up late in the cycle. It's not ideal but, do you really want to spend a slot this cycle on a depth player? Seems they were willing to go without one this year if Moore didn't happen.

Current depth for 2023 is OK

I agree that if we really need a warm body ready to play for that year (in case if Pyne transfers out, etc), there will be any number of serviceable QB's in the transfer portal for that 2023 class. I don't think any of them would be able to snatch the position from Buchner, but one of them could be a reliable option at QB2 or QB3.

As you stated above, we have three QB's who look like they can step in and play, and that at least the majority of the playbook would be available. All three QB's have at least a decent arm, and understand the game, and all three have at least some degree of mobility.

It's not like most of the Brian Kelly days (aside from 2015, 2018, and to a lesser extent, 2021) when you'd have one battle ready QB, and after that, it was basically a "don't hurt me" type of game where he'd minimize the playbook. For that matter, when Tommy Rees was playing, the playbook was cut down to 1/3rd of what was normally available (no rollouts, no QB runs, no medium or long range game).

From what we've seen, your 2nd paragraph is a reach. Of course, a lot will depend on the offense

Rees develops, but I'm not yet convinced Buchner nor Pyne have the necessary arm strength nor accuracy to be the QB ND needs.

Buchner has plenty of arm strength. I've never read anything to the contrary. He may not have a cannon but, few do (and it's not needed).

This article has some decent insights.
