Am I reading the room correctly for the QB situation?

Buchner has great legs (effective runner from QB slot), but his accuracy is woeful and is injury prone.
Pyne has the arm, accuracy (I stopped putting value in the "spring ball game" 10 years ago), can scoot out of trouble with his legs and has moxie.

Why is this even a contest? Pyne should be the guy right?

I would like to be gracious in pointing out the guys who jumped all over my post back in July, but I won't. EAT IT! Let's go Pyne.

If Pyne were ready, he would play

Drew Pyne was a sophomore last year, having had a year of practice as a freshman, and having a few game time minutes. He also had two spring seasons worth of practice.

If he were anywhere nearly ready to take the reins, he would definitely have earned more playing time, especially at the beginning of the last year when the offensive line was in shambles and Coan was getting beaten up.

That's all in the past now. He has a chance to prove himself under Freeman, and now having had three spring seasons and two fall camps under his belt, will give us a better idea of where he is.

Especially after a closer than it should have been game against FSU.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame
