2,600 yards, 38 TDs, 12.5 YPC. That's amazing no matter where he plays.

The film says it all.

Link: Speed

I don't believe illusions because too much is for real.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. Kelly either didn't get this type of player or go after them but it's worth a shot every few years. To much playmaking ability to pass up.

Oregon's De'anthony Thomas was the same size coming out of HS.

Yep...I'd take him in a heartbeat too.

Fast and with vision but I don't know why he would pick up a bouncing punt at the 4 and return it.

Somehow got the TD though. And yes, wow about the speed.

He may end up in the slot.

With todays game being about matchups he could really cause some problems. If you watch Rocket's ND tapes he did not juke guys that often. I'm not saying this kids better or faster but his plant & change of direction might even be a hair better if that's possible.

Thread Level: 3

Not better than the Rocket.

Many speedsters have a fantastic top speed, but take quite a while to reach that speed. Those are the "slow 4.40 runners" that have made us scratch our heads wondering why they looked so slow on the field.

We've had plenty of them in the past, and I remember Ryan Grant and Dwight Ellick on the team at the same time, being two of the fastest track guys as well. Unfortunately, those guys didn't exactly show that great speed on the football field (or at least Grant lost his when he got hurt in 2002).

Edwards doesn't have that issue. He's got a great 1st gear and a very high top speed. He doesn't need much space to get to top speed, and can get there in a hurry. He also seems to have excellent field vision.

We need him, plain and simple, and having him in on the field can change an entire defense's game plan.

That reminds me of some guy who wore #25 a long time ago and... Nah... Won't say it.

Hill has had many years of S&C and was already at 185 lbs in his final college year.

That, plus he had a very small number of hits on him before he turned pro, having played in community college for two years, only having played one year at Oklahoma State, and finishing off his career at West Alabama, where again, he didn't take many hits at all due to limited playing time.

Right now, Edwards is at 165 lbs, and if he can put on 20 lbs of muscle (and I think he can certainly do that very handily) I think he can also be in a similar situation by the end of college, since he's probably not going to be an every down back.

We're talking Hill in HS...not Hill out of college or even as a pro

How many guys this size play and kill the game because their speed and agility is just ridiculous. They're super hard to tackle or hit clean. They usually don't get blown up and for the most part do just fine. From Deanthony Thomas, Kavonte Turpin, Tyler Goodson, Isaiah McKenzie, Boston Scott, Philip Lindsay, CJ Verdell or going back to guys like Dante Hall and Darren Sproles. All these guys were this size in HS 5-7-5-9 160-180lbs but they did just fine. You get a kid with this kind of speed and agility you DONT bulk him up. Just let get strong naturally and keep that advantage they have. Im sure Balis has a good program for that. The fact that Freeman and Co are even going after a kid like this excites me. Hate coaches that think so in the box about a player. If he don't fit some ht/wt ratio dont bother. This kid's speed and moves are effortless...hope he's Irish when it's all said and done. Always envious of teams that had a player like this.

Given today's game of getting your breakaway threats in space, this guy looks like he could be the type of threat we haven't seen since Rocket. I like both the offense and special teams threat he could be....
