"Bonvechio to Snow. Touchdown Irish!" Bonvechio barely played and never threw a touchdown. Huarte won the Heisman throwing to Snow. John had to be thinking "who was in charge of this script? I was a minute and change from being undefeated and a National Champion!"

I was a contemporary of Rudy, knew him personally, and am longtime friends with a guy who lived with him for 2 years.
I know the truth behind the myths and when folks ask me about it, I ask them if they want their bubble burst before I go into the real details.

I was at the real Rudy/G Tech game.
Back then, they had portable aluminum bleachers set up in the north end. My feet were inches from the end zone line, right by the student section. I did not hear any organized chant of "Rudy" before, during, or after the game. That's not to say close friends of Rudy, somewhere up in row 50, weren't yelling it. Irish won the game. Headed to Gippers Lounge after the game and celebrated. Gippers is no longer there.
I was at the make-believe one...where they filmed the crowd scenes at halftime.
