The SEC’s $100 M have to be split equally among the schools or predicated on a W - L formula?

These articles are pure clickbait and should be ignored.

The 'reported' $75M ask is based on a single, unsourced piece by well-known hack Dennis Dodd.

Then there's this gem - 'Negotiating such an increase in Notre Dame’s media rights package will be crucial to the program’s ability maintain independence.' Wrong. ND doesn't need a dime to stay independent.

EDIT: In the month or so since Dodd 'broke' this story, not a single other source has verified it. Not one. Color me skeptical.

While I generally think Finebaum is an insecure little arse,

I don't really have a problem with anything he's quoted as saying in the article. He doesn't think ND can get an increase from $15 to $75 million/year from NBC, and there are certainly logical arguments to be made here. Fine. We'll see who is correct when ND either gets what they're asking for from NBC or doesn't.

As for the argument regarding whether ND can or can't compete for National Championships as an independent... Well, ND has been in the playoff multiple times, so it's empirically incorrect to say they haven't been able to compete thus far. As to whether the restructuring of the SEC and B1G has a significant impact on whether ND is able to secure a playoff spot in the near future has yet to be seen. We'll just have to wait and see how the coming seasons play out and whether a potentially 'deserving' ND squad is denied a playoff slot or not. Again, thus far that has not been the case, so the existing evidence doesn't support Feinbaum's opinion.

And in the end, that's really all he's doing (and all he ever really does)—spouting his opinions on a variety of matters related to college football to fill air time. And you know what they say about opinions...

In the new world of NIL and internet recruiting the deep south is at a disadvantage.

Their base is beginnjng to look outside the region.

Schools with national profiles and corporate sponsors should thrive.

Paul feels a little threatened.

Finebomb has his head up his $EC arse. If not NBC, ESPN or another network will pay the Irish.

Listen to Finebomb's callers, all inbred morons just like him. He is still mad that his alma mater Tenn. has been irrelevant for decades.
