On eastern teams, when such teams were historically weak.Once joining big 10, he found life different.Pa never wanted to play anybody, he's d have played Temple every week, if you let him.

Maryland isn't exactly chopped liver. They're 3-1 now (yes, yes, those three teams weren't exactly good), and they have a hungry coach who completed his rehab under Nick Saban.
It will all come out in the wash. If Michigan can beat Iowa, Penn State, Michigan State, and tOSU, then they will definitely have earned it. With JJ McCarthy at the helm, they just might do it.

MSU sucks, Iowa has no offense, PSU will fold as always, so tOSU. Kinda BS
They’ve played no one, have a weak ass non-conference schedule, the Big 10 is weak generally, and they get in with one win against a good but not great tOSU. Sadly, this is probably the model for when the playoffs expand to 12 teams. Get in healthy is all that will matter.
That said, their D isn’t great and they’ll likely lose one or two before tOSU. Here’s hoping.
