Just watched highlights of 2012 USC game, Golson was very underappreciated and the two things that
hurt him were his missing 2014 and the BS loss at FSU when he drove us down the field and in for an apparent game winning TD that was erased. Also Theo Riddick was a gem in that game and we loved his attitude. He poured it all out on the field.

Don't forget the 2 or 3 games that Rees bailed him out for the win.

Against Miami Rees looked terrible and Golson led us to a landslide win. Against BYU we struggled
with Rees, Golson pulled out win against Pitt and against Oklahoma he played great and when he had the wind knocked out of him Rees came off the bench to throw a clutch completion but Golson was terrific against USC and he showed up pretty well against Alabama, one excellent interception against him but they were brutal on everyone else.
In 2014 he also played well against LSU, though Zaire was a great leader in that game and up until he was hurt. Golson did throw one up for grabs against LSU in 2014 but he could move the ball well all year. The Arizona game was just a freak loss when every batted ball got picked and Robinson's drop got picked. And of course the screw job against FSU.
You're overlooking the last minute Purdue drive where Tommy saved Golson and there was 1 or 2 more
of the same low quality opponents. We got steamrolled by Arizona when it was abundantly clear Golson couldn't cut it.
Golson was a pure talent. One of my favorite plays of the past 25 years.
#9 ND down to #14 Stanford 14-10 with 1:09 left in the game. Ball on the Stanford 23. 4th down and 11. Need a 1st down to stay alive. Then this happened.

When I see all the great plays Golson made it amazes me that one can argue so hard for Pyne yet have
always badmouthed Golson. Golson obviously made some bad turnovers but he could bring a team back as well as anyone and his two minute drives were superb.
