Mondays are depressing enough after a loss. I am in a malaise for the ages.

Not sure there is enough coffee for today.

Believe me, I wanted to pound some Spotted Cow once the kids were in bed, but I was mentally exhausted processing a loss like this. And then the inevitable loss of hope and realization that the Playoffs will not happen. Just thought it was better to turn in early.

No one was more done than me, shedding tears but then we have to act like we still have hope

and win one at a time now. If we do that we have a very good chance of having our hopes and dreams still alive by seasons end. It won't be easy but usually the ND character has the guts to dig deep.

A lot of it was the sky high expectations after A&M and losing the home opener to an inferior

team. That was a true embarrassment. Someone said that there are expectations for the guys in those Unis and wearing those headsets at ND. They fell down miserably. The plight of the ND faithful. I’m too old to change my habits though. I’m a fan even if they play Bucknell in the Patriot League.

The A&M win was nice, but it was against a team coming off a mediocre 2023 with a new HC.

And the AD might want to remind them of that. Staff and players should all be put on notice

Rule #1, if u r going to stress u have a gold standard u might want to lead by example and try it

One day, it will come together. Just hope I can enjoy it while I am on God’s green Earth.

Sad thing is us old farts are aged enough to remember really good ND teams. My first game was 66

versus Navy in Philly. Don’t recall that one, but vividly remember 73, 77, and especially 88. Feel bad that my kids never saw one.

I remembered 88 and that was when my fandom was cemented

Enjoyed watching Tony Rice and Zorich. I thought we would win a championship every year. It was different time and Holtz was able to get some guys through admissions that probably not get in today. But that is a discussion for another time.
