Well it took Devine two QBs to get hurt in 1977 against Purdue to get Montana in.

Actually Lisch could have been a decent QB if Devine, who was the worst offensive mind ever, didn't ruin him. He had all the tools, Gary Forystek came in and was a good passer but got blasted by the Purdue Middle linebacker and was never the same, so Joe Montana started to become a legend then. The Same for Carr?

Angeli, Minchey and Carr should demand $1 mil each mid-way through Q1.

That’s the problem with paying for mediocrity. Precedent & no long-term QB solution.

They should give Angeli a quarter or a half to see what he can do, no?

I can't help but smile thinking of Purdue flattening MF as he gets up off canvas

This situation would feel much differently if it was primarily one area of the team that caused this

meltdown, but that genuinely wasn't the case. Every part of the team had a hand in this loss. From the coaching staff to each positional group. That's a tough pill to swallow” Originally posted on Notre Dame Fighting Irish on SI

This is correct. A few players balled out and or flashed, but the mental errors

throughout the game were indicative of a team just not being dialed in like one has to be, no matter who the opponent is. Even Ben Morrison got beat on plays that Ben Morrison simply doesn't get beat on if he's dialed in. That's just a lack of effort and desire to compete.

Well deserved team loss.

How about Special Teams: 2 of our FGs were blocked.

A bad move. Especially if we get behind early.
