remainder of the season?
1. New QB. At min, another would get legitimate playing time. Enough to display what the offense could look like.
2. Use of two backs - where more of our offensive talent is
3. Hopefully Faison is good to go
4. A DL that looks alive. PS all the Duke talk has been on RL. Where on earth has Oben been? He looked slow and out of shape in the opener.

Thought the game was over once ND went up 7-0 and decided it was time to work on the passing game. Seen that movie too many times.

We hate to say it but letdowns happen. Emotions can get you a huge win bu can always be a bit of a crap shoot the following week.
Winning the games you're supposed to. Winning games you're supposed to at home. Winning the games you're supposed to at home against lesser opponents. Winning the games at home against a superior opponent at home in prime time because no one knows how to count. Just my opinion.
I don't feel a big or large win today will ease the sting of NIU or Marshall or Stanford or missing players against OSU or even the bowl loss to Okie State. This is all in a short period of time. Can the players trust each other to give it their best and can they trust the staff to put them in the best position to win? You can feed them all the Xs and Os you want but if the desire isn't there, you get NIU results.

RL's getting killed for his play, but their were quite a few players on defense who got beat consistently in one on one battles, that shouldn't get beat in one on one battles against that team. There were many plays that should have been losses for NIU, that turned into 7+ yd gains because ND's players got outworked or just plain jogged thru the play, What should have been incompletions, turned into first downs or a touchdown, because NIU just wanted it a lot more and had the focus to get it done.
If RL deserves to be benched, then so do Cross, Mills, Kiser, Morrison and Sneed. They got outworked and beat because of lack of focus all game long.
there will be at least one and probable more NIU’s this year.

Playing an entire game with urgency
Not wasting a timeout in either half
Coaching and players performing to the GOLD standard whatever that is.
Better tackling
Receivers getting separation
Some roll outs, play action and a few jet sweeps.
NOT ANOTHER shitshow
I also want to see the team come out and dominate and prove last week was the aberration. If the team comes out flat, wins a close one or loses, I’ll have concerns..
..but it also sounds like..
