+ Angeli has played real minutes in about four ND games: TN ST '23, PITT '23, Ore St '23, and PUR '24, His QBR avg is 94.2 and he has 8 TDs with 0 INTs in 46 pass attempts for 554 yards (12yd avg). Overall, 9TDs 1 pick

+ Leonard on the other hand has played in three ND games: His QBR avg is 63.1 and he has has 0 TDs with 2 INTs in 78 pass attempts for 433 yards (5.5yd avg). Overall, 0TDs 2 picks.
Career QBR 59.57 (removing FR yr 69.43) - This is exactly the type of play we've watched. The same for Hartman. It's seems to be a reliable indicator more than our opinions.

+ Sam Hartman in 2023 had a QBR of 75.5 and 24TDs and 8 picks.
Career QBR 69.50, again about the level of play we saw.

+ Ian Book career QBR 76.85
ND's all-time winningest QB and second most yards

+ Brady Quinn career QBR 73.9 (only a QBR for SR yr, RTG for others)
ND's all-time leader by yards

+ Tommy Rees career QBR 67.15
ND's 4th all-time leader by yards and ranks in the top five in 21 different single-game, single-season or career passing categories

+ Jimmy Clausen career QBR 50.50
ND's 3rd all-time leader by yards

RL should not be starting

Agreed, oldirish has been right much more than wrong

If it was up me, the Riley Leonard era would be over. I’d start CJ Carr, and absorb a few mistakes.

I believe he is the only one that can win multiple playoff games. I’d take a few lumps with him so that he gets valuable PT. Angeli can be the backup.

At this point RL has played less than 4 games, so he can maybe play elsewhere next year.

I'd rather that the offensive line shore up first

I agree with a lot of what you said. I simply would prefer that the line be better developed before putting him in the starting spot.

Right now, we have a lot of younger underclassmen starting, and while the talent looks good, they're still making some green mistakes.

I agree…though for at least a few games I might play Angeli to start games and get a lead…at least against the lesser competition…..then let Carr jump in to get more live experience.

Same.
