What Louisville showed against Ga Tech in 31-19 win

1. Two TD's came from outside the offense: a deflected (ill-advised) lateral that was covered by Louiville's D in the end zone and a blocked FG return for a TD.
2. Another TD was a very long pass where the defender interfered but the receiver kept running, caught the ball and scored. I'd like to think we won't give up plays like that but... Northern Illinois happened.
3. Their offense did not do a good job sustaining drives against GT
4. Their defense was good stopping hand-offs up the middle, but GT's QB had lots of yards running the kind of plays we see RL use.

In short, Louisville looks decent, but won the GT game largely on the strength of opportunistic defense and special teams. We just saw ND's special teams dig a hole against Miami-O, so let's hope we got that out of our system. Straight up, I think we can beat them by a TD, but I'd feel a lot more certain if our QB was better at easy throws to open receivers.

I have little faith ND can beat UL. The UL defense will force Leonard to throw the ball (something

he can't do well, or I should say, barely) and they will tie up the ND run game - spy RL with a quick defender.
It will be a long afternoon for ND.

ND would do well in investing in recruiting and signing QB's. Oh wait, they did do that and they're sitting on the bench.
I guess obviously it's better to go get transfer QB's to come in each year for one year and see if they are better, like
Hartman, Coan and now Riley. I see the genius in that.

They are overrated. They beat GT and people think GT is good because they beat a disastrous FSU squad.

If only we'd beaten Clemson for DJ Uiagalelei. There are no guarantees. You recruit and develop as

best you can. I believe Carr will be starting this year or next. Perhaps, he is just not yet ready.

Very informative summary, thanks
