Freeman is sticking with RL. Can we all agree if ND drops another game it’s time for the Carr era ?

If he plays poorly for another half we need to see somebody different

He would go to Angeli if anything.

It'd be smarter to tag team them than throwing Angeli in cold to win a game.

I mean, I'd start Angeli. But we are talking about what Freeman will do.

Kind of like Tommy Rees coming in at the end to bail out Golson

A change would be smart. Whether it's Angeli, Minchey or Carr is the only question.

I'd go with Angeli and/or Minchey. Let Carr keep his redshirt year.

If Leonard struggles it makes most sense to put the second stringer in and that is Angeli. I do love

isn't playing well, visibly showing he has it in him to drive the offense for the winning score and Freeman doesn't give Angeli a shot, then Freeman's head should be the one on the chopping block.

We lost his first game vs oSu because he didn't have the chops to pull the trigger on a QB switch once Coan went into his standard cold streak...if he still doesn't have that in him with a season on the line in year 3 then he learned nothing from that loss.

No way he jumps Angeli and Minchey this year

Thread Level: 3

If he is fourth on the depth chart he needs to transfer. He is only hurting himself by staying.

Imagine if we started Angeli last year after Hartman lost to Louisville. Leonard probably wouldn't even be on this team. Though who knows as Denbrock seems to only like QBs who can run. I checked out his recent offenses from Cincy and LSU and in each season the QB had the second most carries. Angeli isn't completely immobile, but he's not the type of QB I'd give that many carries to.

I agree. It I don’t think freeman benches RL short of an injury. I just don’t see it happening.

This is as much a problem with freeman as anything.

Either he can’t admit a mistake or he won’t give up on Leonard. To a fault. Even if someone else comes in and is better and wins the game.

I wonder if there is any friction between freeman and the offensive coaching staff over Leonard

I think you give RL the opportunity to win this and the remaining games on the schedule with improved play. If ND loses any of them, I think you accept the fact that you won't be in the playoffs this year and start looking for your QB for the next couple of years between Minchey and Carr. I think its time to stop chasing portal QBs and develop your own. MF recruited Minchey and Carr and we need to know if MF's staff can develop one of them. If not, ND's not going to be in the playoffs until it gets a coaching staff that can develop QBs...
