I get the feeling there is a ton of pressure on MF and the team today.

I don't know if that is good or bad. It seems MF is still living the NIU game in his demeanor. All eyes are on him, his decision making and leadership, and Riley. Don't blame the fans. Don't blame the gray hairs or the rain showers or the wind. Today is all on MF and his players. You can't win this game at home, you don't deserve the playoffs IMHO.

Undoubtedly. I'll check the score and board mood in a bit to see how things are going

No way a 2 loss team, with one being to NIU gets into the playoff…nor do they deserve to..

Every remaining game is pressure packed…

Losing NIU was a colossal, boneheaded mistake

we don't belong anywhere near a field that leads to championship possibilities with 2+ losses vs this schedule and one of them to Northern F'ing Illinois.

But if we lose, no way we get in the playoffs. And MF shifts to the hot seat.

agreed. TODAY IS THE DAY. I THINK THE IRISH COME OUT HOT....(after 2 disappointing home games)....

TODAY propels the season. IRISH IN A BIG WIN. I HOPE MF plays 2 QB's...Riley and Angelli. Get UL on their heels. ROCK AND ROLL

Freeman is already squarely on the hot seat.

Marshall, Stanford, 10 men on the field, NIU.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

Unlikely to be fired this year, but MF is on the hot seat with many of his former supporters

recruiting and better coaching. ND is in year three with Freeman and while he’s surrounded himself with solid coaches and recruiting has been decent, though this current class keeps dropping in rankings, I feel like we are stuck in a rut here in year three. I was hoping this season would be the year to get up and over the hump but just don’t see it. The QB and WR positions still need to be upgraded talent wise. The only conclusion I can come to with Leonard is that the coaches must have thought this season’s team had a chance to win it and that he was the guy that provided the best chance. I personally don’t see it. There’s too many flaws with Leonard. If Carr is the real deal, I say start playing him and develop him and it will only help ND going forward. Other colleges are playing freshman QB’s and will be so much better over the next few seasons because of it.

Yep, I wasn't even in 'has to win natty' mode this year, was just looking for marked improvement...

But the switch has to go on with RL. I think he is clearly holding us back and is clearly the problem season to date so far.

Agree, they can't. But if the season tanks, it will chew up Marcus both internally and externally.

I think you are right - this game is a real test for MF and sets the stage for the rest of this season.....and perhaps beyond!
