The rediculousness of how quickly posters turn on recruits here is interesting. Many of the same

people are the ones whining about the negativity around our neverending QB saga.

So, it's okay to be fake and happy about a kid when they verbal to ND, but negative and abusive when they decide to take a better deal?

What makes it okay to condescendingly look down on one form of negativity but participate and support another?

I thought they were all just kids???

LOL because we are all biased bastards. I joke about "Deuces wild" but I don't really wish him harm.

Fair. You're one of the few willing to admit it.

He left and did so while it's still early in the recruiting cycle, and didn't make any overly ridiculous demands the way that CJ Leak did (that screwed us over).

That, plus our QB depth isn't nearly as bad as it was during the time of the CJ Leak fiasco.

Not really in DK’s case….

…he committed
…he stayed committed after visiting elsewhere regularly. He knew he was leaving, but he held his spot and froze ND from looking for another QB until very late.

Because he was still committed, fans took him at his word that ND was still in contention, and the rumors were potentially false.

This is not on ND fans, and it is tiring to grant excuses to guys who will make millions who string things out to maximize their payday.

Kid may never care, but he burned bridges by not making a cleaner, quicker cut of ties. He screwed ND for his own gain.

IMHO NIL & transfer rules have made fans hardened to this whole recruiting thing.

It has always been my policy to be even keel when they commit or decommit. They have "advisers", friends and family members in their ear so some slug on a message board isn't going to move the needle for them.

I stopped paying attention completely. An 18 year is pretty untrustable. An 18 year old under NIL is

almost definately untrustable.

My time is way to valuable to spend it figuring out the whims of kids and who is waving money in their face.
