The loss to NIU has become less and less relevant. As expected.

That loss will be relevant until the end of time. ND fans will discuss it at least until then.

It was a horrible, depressing loss. If we win the rest of our games it will be irrelevant.

Too soon to draw that conclusion. Already talk about quality of wins AND losses.

If it is close at the end I could see NIU being the reason we get left out.

Underscores the need to win all remaining games and dominate inferior opponents.

Always best to lose early in the season...

I think just the opposite. If we win that game we are top 5 & hosting a playoff game.

That is one of the worst losses in program history.

Whatever the committee decides to do with ND, that loss can be used as an excuse/reason.

But on the other hand, that loss may show you who you really are.

The offense & the offensive line look like works in progress.

They still need to go 11-1 which requires a 10 game winning streak

Not sure this team has what it takes to win 10 straight…

Freeman hasn't come close to that kind of win streak.

Georgia might argue the best win, but still.

Doesn’t Bama currently hold that title?

In fact, almost certainly except that A&M is undefeated in the SEC whereas Ga and Ala are not…..and we all know how great that must make them, right?

Thread Level: 3

Worst loss...sure, but about 7 teams could easily argue they have a better win.

The problem that I see is that ND has little chance to move up much given its remaining schedule.

Louisville and USC losing doesn't help ND's SOS.
And the remaining schedule has no more prize or coveted wins...and not sure how good Navy and Army really are.

Given that there are no more ties in college football, as long as we keep winning, we will move up by default.

A single game that’s going to move the needle. Might just sit where we are and get passed by a few teams

He’s saying that teams in the 12-17 slots could pass us with meaningful wins. Do you feel our team deserves a playoff spot?

Too early to tell. I was just saying that teams ranked ahead of us will mostly fall behind us. Not

Individual teams may pass ND with strong wins, but they would be at the expense of teams already ahead of ND. The NIU loss was really bad, but happened at the best time of the year to lose - early.

I cannot imagine a season where an 11-1 ND team doesn't finish Top 10. They could even host a game.

Thread Level: 4

They will as long as they keep winning. Look how they moved up on a bye week. Lots of chaos yet to

Where are the 'good' wins left to be had on ND's schedule?
