ND still more Qs than As. Big 12 should start at #12 or below. Riley sucks or PSU exposed, etc.

Alabama should be below us. Last 2 games they’ve had trouble with huge underdogs.

'Bama could lose 3 games and still be viewed as a playoff worthy team.

But the teams they play (and beat) are far better teams than our crap schedule

You are assuming they will beat the remaining teams on their schedule.

Not a given. If we win out and they lose another game we should be ranked ahead of them.

Thread Level: 5

Hmmmmm….and so are you assuming we finish 11-1??

Your point is?

Thread Level: 3

The SEC has 8 teams in the top 25 while the Big has 6 with 3 in the top 5.

We likely need help to get in

which means all the teams on our schedule need to win. We might have gotten in with one loss but that one loss being NIU isn't going to cut.

USC beating PSU would have been very helpful and while Purdue losing probably isn't a big deal, it would have been better to win.

We probably need 2 teams on our schedule to be "in consideration" for the playoffs which means A&M and Louisville since there really isn't anyone else to help us unless hell freezes over and Army/Navy work themselves into the mix as a group of 5 consideration. It might be the height of irony (and I don't think it is going to happen) that NIU beating us would be both their ticket in and out ticket out.

Our goose is cooked unless A&M can get in.

LSU beat Ole Miss, so it was entirely expected that they'd jump.

For Notre Dame, it's really simple this year. Win out and they're in. Lose one more and they're out.

Lots of football to be played, and a lot of teams ahead of us will fall.

We just have to take care of business on our end and not have another NIU moment.

Does the AP poll even count towards the CFP rankings?
