I believe the injured hand affected the Navy QB’s play but most of the fumbles were absolutely unforced.

Correct. Navy was a hot mess today.
We need to establish a high level of play, especially against
a team with 7 fumbles and an interception.Coach Freeman righteously stated that there were too many missed tackles, missed assignments, and penalties in the
1st half. We got better in the second half, but still need to improve in order to beat elite teams.Yoakam is a fantastic story. But we need our regular

Dismissing the speed and disruption of the defense is absolutely false and ridiculous.

The INT was the only objectively forced turnover …
I agree with you (and others) that speed can be a factor in mishandling balls.
One punt muff was a routine catch that all punt returners face. The second one was a poor decision by the returner to attempt.
Two fumbles on toss plays were routine while having zero defenders in the backfield.
And worse one was when the QB inexplicably dropped the ball into the end zone. He was untouched and dropped the ball.
Through an unbiased lens they were unforced.
Nevertheless, it’s still a huge victory for ND and many good things happened today.

It's called players trying to do things a tik quicker than they normally would.
You can harp all you want about how ND didn't have players immediately impacting those play, but Navy was sped up from the opening kick. That's what caused those mistakes.
Saying otherwise is just ignorant and arguing for the sake of arguing.

Our defense is very fast and that sped up Navy and so turnovers were somewhat forced but not forced
by impact hits or ripping the ball out of ball carrier's grip.

Well stated, those ball carriers weren't looking the ball into their hands,
they were looking where the white jersey's were coming from.

Even the coach admitted those were totally unforced, uncharacteristic errors.
But heh the only thing that matters is where do we finish in the new poll and of course the end of season
