No Mike Mayer to cover up his fundamental flaws
He doesn't have a superstar player who can regularly beat double coverage in a narrow area of the field.
He doesn't have the arm strength to stretch the field vertically, and still doesn't look over the middle.
I wish he could have thrived, but it simply wasn't meant to be, here, at Arizona State, or Missouri.

No doubt missing on QB recruits has prevented ND from having better success since Book. I think Carr changes that and hopefully so do the QB recruits after Carr.

We are both PA guys. I thought the same thing then. In the end, he played at three different college
and he just wasn’t a good D1 QB. He was built like a truck but couldn’t hit a bull in the ass with a banjo with throwing accuracy.
