The only team ahead of them to lose was LSU, and A&M will replace LSU at 8.
If ND wins out, they should finish around 7 or 8. Anything higher will require some extra chaos.
And that no one jumps us. Not saying I don’t agree but I don’t see it.
The big question will be where 2 loss SEC and B10 teams are ranked.
If Texas loses to A&M, do they drop below ND?
If Ohio State loses to PSU, do they drop below ND?
What about a 1 loss BYU? Or 1 loss ISU?
Maybe 9 or 10 is more realistic if ND wins out. That NIU loss is killer.
I see 2 loss SEC AND Big Ten teams getting in before us. Our crap schedule and lack of conference championship game are potentially going to bite us in the ass. And Indiana, Texas A&M and Alabama are nipping on our heels while we play no one. Not our fault that FSU and USC suck but they do.
And hope teams making it to conference title games win out before they get there.
TAMU winning has to help us for 2 reasons
1 we are there only loss
2 they knock out other teams on their way
We need PSU and Oregon undefeated and Indiana with 2 losses. Any TAMU and Georgia in sec title game. That way Texas has 2 losses too. Assume Clemson and Miami both get in with 1 loss.
There are several scenarios where we get screwed. But there will be 2 loss teams ahead of us because of SOS.
And obviously we need to win out. Looking more plausible but with this team not guaranteed though Leonard looks much, much better. He actually waited in the pocket and rifled passes downfield. WTF has that been or was it because Navy got zero pressure on him.
I agree with the oddsmakers. Slightly better than 50% chance.
Especially if that second loss is to A&M.
Who has Texas beaten that's great? Michigan? Oklahoma? Vanderbilt?

We just have to hope the TAMU win gets as much weight as that loss
Is a better team than the one we played
But if Leonard keeps playing like he did against Navy (which of course is a big if) then I like our chances to win out.
Even FSU and USC are much better teams than Navy.
