Heather is a nerdy woman from Pottsville PA (my hometown). Her Dad is a political hack. How the hell

did she become a "football expert"?

Thread Level: 2

She is not an ND hater....but if the committee does this, they are wrong.

I think she is just wrong...if they do it how I'm thinking which is 1. OR 2. MIA 3. BYU 4. A&M

then I see ND at the 10 seed in very first edition behind 5. GA 6. PSU 7. Tosu 8. TX 9. Tenn, with 4 games remaining to move up into the 6-8 spot depending on other 'goings ons' around us (like the loser of Tosu-PSU possibly being behind us).

I don't see any teams behind us in the initial release passing us other than Clem if they beat Miami in ACC title game, or ISU if the beat BYU for B12 title (which would drop BYU, so no harm there) or Indiana playing their way into the B1G championship (which means they would knock Tosu off, so again no harm).

The only teams that are likely to stay ahead of us with a loss are Oregon if the first loss is in B1G title game and/or Miami if the first loss is in the ACC title game.

I really like our chances of getting the 8 seed or higher if we win out.

ND and Penn St are viewed as pretenders. Their signature game records stink.

I'm a Catholic from PA so support ND (most) and Penn St.
But history is what it is.
Those teams have to win a collection of signature games to re-earn legitimacy status as the default.
like Bama, Texas, Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson, etc.

And ND didn't help itself this year with its schedule...

This is a dumb statement.A&M leads the SEC. And regarding your 2nd comment…

Miami bought out their game and left us scrambling at the last minute.
Imagine the schedule as planned:
at A&M
Louisville at home
Miami neutral site
FSU (who knew they would plummet as they have)
USC at USC

As reasonable (and moreso) a schedule than most. That did not play out the way they expected, but to imply that ND didn’t help itself with its schedule is disingenuous because they did try.

So the game they backed out of was neutral site?

The committee can't get over the loss? Join the club. The Irish are considerably better now than back then and they are getting better, but, NIU happened. Our staff and players better make quick work of the remaining schedule, including USC. No excuses if you want to belong.

And hope Texas A&M wins out.
