Bowling green or both at the start of the season and then won out and got big 10 title and auto top 4 seed? Can’t do anything abut it. But we will have it hanging over our necks and may cost us. But that’s our fault for losing and not looks a conference. The price of independence
If u want to have a playoff u need to have an NFL style divisions with similar schedules and set rules to playoff qualification. And we should not be allowed any special arrangement in tha at world. He old way is dead and we have to either join the party or not. Our choice.
The way it is now it’s like blowing up the old way by keeping the old way intact just enough so it looks like it did.
It’s being 1/2 in and 1/2 out.
Yes, some lesser qualified teams will make it each year. But they'll get squashed. No one who genuinely has a shot to win it all will get excluded.

For the vast majority of the history of college football, the predominant system was polls - the very worst way to select a champion.
Then came the BCS, which sought to pit the top two teams against each other. The fatal flaws of the BCS were the selection criteria that was still too heavily dependent on the polls and the 'playoff' was limited to two teams.
So they scrapped the BCS and went with the CFP model, expanding to four. In my opinion, this was the best system to date. Expanded opportunity but still exclusive, and the polls replaced by a selection committee.
And now we are moving to 12. So awful in every way. Kill the one thing that is unique about college football - your season is on the line every week. Those Nov rivalry games will still matter, but they will be far less compelling.
Nowhere in any of this is any discussion of the extra burden on the players due to the extra games. Nobody cares about that.
EDIT: typo
it is 12 this year.

But look at what college basketball ball does. That does until April.
Or might be the physical toll but it’s effect on school and academics is Just as bad if not worse.
My point is u can’t do this 1/2 way.
