Our path to #5...very hard

1. A&M beats Texas
2. Georgia beats Tennessee
3. OSU beats Indiana
4. A&M beats Alabama in SEC championship
5. Minn beats PSU
6. We win out

I think we need all of those to happen to get us to #5. Gig'em Aggies.

Where's #1 Oregon in your scenario?

The loser of either the SEC or B10 title game will be #5.

ND lost to NIU. That matters.

Personally, I'm not betting against Indiana.

I’d take an away game at BYU

A home playoff game is pretty much a pipe dream at this point.

ND is unlikely (to say the least) to be seeded any higher than 7 since both the SEC #2 (unless the single digit possibility of A&M being that team) and the Big 10 #2 will be seeded in the #5/#6 slots.

And it is highly probable that the #3 SEC/ Big will also be seeded above us.

At that point we are sitting at #9 as about our highest possible seeding, unless some strange things happen in the next 3 weeks.

You say ND could be seeded as high as 7th. Well, 7 & 8 get home games too. Not quite a pipe dream

I agree, we need some things to fall our way. But, it's not as far fetched as being a pipe dream

If the 3rd and 4th conf champs aren't in front of us (Big12 and ACC), they jump us in the pecking order. So, we may have to be in the Top 6 to get a home game.

In my perfect world (that is slightly reasonable), it's
1. Oregon
2. Alabama
3. BYU
4. SMU/Miami
5. OSU
6. Penn State
7. ND
8. Indiana

The key is Texas needs to lose to T A&M, and we need to rock USC like we did FSU.

TX really hasn’t done much. Beaten badly by the 12 ranked team.
