Thanks for the link. From my PoV, better for ND to face Penn State, Boise St. or Miami first.

But I wouldn't mind seeing ND mix it up with any of them first game.
What the heck? If you want to be the best, you gotta beat the best.

Think of it this way, we aren't getting through the playoff without crossing paths with..

the high level SEC teams.

Would you rather play them later, at a neutral site, warm weather location where everyone is nice n comfy...or would you rather bring one of those Southern big boys up North in December.

I say rip the bandaid off and host Bama, Georgia, Texas, or Miami in South Bend.

If ND starts round 1 with an SEC or Big X power, they will likely play 2-3 of them in the playoffs..

should they host a 1st round against 1 of the lessers and get to play the 3 or 4 seed, they may "miss" a power that got upset...

Not likely..

There are probably only going to be 4 SEC teams in the playoff.

1 gets a first round bye, we host one, and the other two have high probability of being in other parts of the bracket, so if we are "lucky" enough to land in same bracket that has the SEC bye, we'd likely play only 2 SEC teams.

My thing is just to maximize our home field advantage. Hosting any of the other cold weather teams doesn't do that...either Miami or one of the SEC teams does (not Tennessee as much).
