claimed he was handicapped in recruiting at ND yet has the same type record at LSU.

Additionally, neither can manage a QB (at ND). BK is what he is. MF has a lot more likeableness but BK is more direct with his actions. MF could turn out to be good or continue to put out a more friendly version of BK results. BK was stubborn and had an ego. That is/was what held him back. MF doesn't always seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. That has held him back, though he is very likeable and upbeat.
Why waste so much energy on him? I know I am alone on this but, I'd much rather focus on Army, SC, MF, our coordinators, our issues, how ND will fit into the playoffs, next years schedule, planning for those tailgates, discussing the 2025 QB situation, the fake punt penalty, the UVA dropped pass non call, the ACC officials and I use that term loosely, Irish in the NFL, selfishly keeping Coach Golden in South Bend. That should be enough to keep us busy for awhile. Just as we celebrate the misfortunes of one of our formers, it will come back and bite us in the ass in a bad way. Wait for it.
Kelly is a non-factor when it comes to ND now. He’s gone, we have a coach that has bought into the ND culture.

Keeping his act around for 12 years was stupid.
I am glad he’s gone…

Lots of people didn't like the hire. We knew he was a mercenary.
Too bad he didn't leave sooner.

…level…and he got ND to an undefeated regular season and NC by his third year. He was a good hire to help rectify the damage of the three stooges who preceded him
His third year also revealed him (big game collapse) and phony (interviewing with NFL while preparing for NC). He should have been gone after 5 or 6 tops. (Certainly after 2016.)
Swarbrick f’d that up. He decided to ride him into the dirt.

If he was able he would have bolted much sooner than he did.
ND should have controlled that situation given all the signs he’d telegraphed…not him.
