Several on the board have Post Traumatic Carrol Syndrome. Forget the flash and some outside speed they have. This game, and every game is won in the trenches. ND has the clear advantages on both sides. ND will be locked in and easily cover the spread.

We should never forget that we're also capable of losing to anyone

This is the same team that lost to NIU.

If we "go to sleep" so to speak, the table gets set for another disaster. And we know how much USC would love to have that come to pass.

All but one team is undefeated and good times have lost a lot of games they should not have.

The tranfer portal has really evened the playing field.

That may be the sole benefit of the NIU debacle. This schedule was softer than marshmallows...

...wrapped in cotton balls on a bed of feathers.

ND could have wandered through it thinking they were worlds better than they actually may be.

The NIU loss...as unfortunate as it was...hopefully helps to keep them grounded and focused better now.

As history shows.

This goes back much further than Carrol. 60's, 70's, and early 80's were horrific.

Historically, we have won 45.8% of our games @ usc. No time to get overconfident.

We are in the minority, but you are correct. 'SC is horrible.

Post Traumatic NIU Syndrome.

Have seen what this group was capable of at home against a very inferior opponent.

Hopefully they’ve learned enough and grown enough.

Think Irish can certainly win…but aware that USC does have talent superior to NIU’s, is playing at home, needs game for winning record, wants revenge for last year’s curb-stomping.

Believe Irish are the better team at this juncture…but there is legitimate cause for some concern as well.

Don't forget Post-Marshall, Post-Stanford, and Post-10 men on defense. This game scares me

I've felt ND would win by double digits every game this season - this one is the exception

USC is like Kansas or Florida - teams nobody wants to play. If Irish win, they're supposed to and if they lose they're bums.

USC has lost 5 games with a point differential of 19

They aren't good, but they aren't bad either.
