Big credit to Jack Swarbrick now. Without his work, this would not have been possible.

Jack hired MF by gut feeling. There was no track record. Nohing to go on.

ND has hired inexperienced guys before with no Head Coach resume and none of it worked out. We all questioned it at the time. Not MF's work ethiic or personality but his inexperience being a HC and how that will work out at ND. Nobody was 100% on board at the time. Most continued to question as the inexcusable losses came and went. But he continued to move forward, learning as he went along. I think if you talk to Irish fans leaving the stadium after NIU, the feeling about MF and Jack would be much different than this morning. We can't rewrite history but we can appreciate that we may have underestimated MF as a man and as a HC. We also should take a deep dive into what Al Golden's influence and experience has meant to MF and our program.

Yep. Haters won’t admit it, but Jack got us here.

And inaddition to the CFP he helped carve out to our benefit, he also hired Marcus Freeman.

I've always seen Swarbrick as a mixed bag, but I think the bag filled with more good than bad after today.
He didn't fire Kelly in 2016, but he did make him hire good coordinators back then , and then he hired Marcus Freeman in 2022, who is now clearly a successful hire which negates that earlier mistake.

I call it like I see it. Haters gonna hate.

OSU is probably calling Marcus Freeman’s agent. You are correct. Jack did good.
