Does anybody know actual 2nd round bowls.
I’m assuming ND gets the 5 or 6 seed. If they win their home game - what bowl gets 4 vs 5 or 3 vs 6 (Fiesta, Peach, Rose, Sugar)

But there is a rule where higher seed gets to pick the bowl game they want thereby deciding the other match-up's bowl.

After playing a 12 game season, the reward is potentially 5 more games over the next six weeks.
This will be a war of attrition.
Four games more if you reach the finals and three more if you are a finalist and in the top 4.

Yep, that's the whole reason it would be unfair for ND to get a bye..
As is there are 4 teams (CCG losers who still make playoffs) with the potential to play 17 games if they make it to the NCG.
Everyone else will play 16 games if they make it to the NCG.
If ND got a bye we would only have to play 15 games.
Semifinals on a Thursday and Friday night? I get that it's ratings and NFL driven...
...but would really prefer to see them both on the Saturday.
Fully understand just how much weight my opinion carries...

With games at 1pm, 4pm, and 8pm that Saturday.
No one would watch the college games.
Playing Friday December 20 should give ND an extra day of rest.
The Fiesta Bowl is December 31, but I doubt they end up there in the quarters unless a Texas picks that spot.
If I had to guess, #1 Oregon would choose the Rose Bowl, and Texas would select the Sugar Bowl.
I'm starting to think ND gains the 6 seed and has to host Alabama, so there's little reason to look past that game.

No, I misstated that slightly...
It's not until the semifinals that highest seed picks location meaning the only other match-up gets the other location.
The quarterfinals are set based on conference ties.
I don't like this 12 team playoff $ making scheme. Now, everybody get off my lawn.
