How USC exposed the Irish secondary and that Indiana is going to do the same. I’m not discounting the fact that Cam Hart had a subpar game, nor am I discounting the fact that Indiana could win this game if the Irish underestimate them case in point NIU. My response is always these questions and I’m asking this group if I’m off base?
1. Had Indiana had traveled to the Coliseum to play these same Trojans..would they have fared much better?
2. Heck Had this same Trojans team played Indiana at Bloomington would they have suffered the same blowout fate that the other teams suffered against the Hoosiers?
3. My last question is this. Given that motivation is always a huge factor for young kids..has anyone considered that on top of the motivation of playing in their first playoff game ever in South Bend, this Irish team might be highly motivated by the pressure of not allowing another team this year to celebrate their “signature win” on their home field? Given the recent flag planting stunts happening at other places..I think that is plenty motivation. What say y’all?

plenty of time to rest, he should be 100% come next Friday. He throws a decent back shoulder ball to his WR's and they have an effective run game. I personally think the game will be won in trenches. Indiana's strength is supposed to be their defensive line and their offensive line came into the season with a lot of playing experience. That said, if ND takes care of business, they are more talented and should win. USC probably has some of the best WR's in college football and I thought the USC line for most of the game did a good job protecting their QB with giving him time to make throws. Gotta give USC credit for what they did against ND, but that was really the first prolific and extremely athletic offense ND faced all year and sometimes those type of games can be great teaching moments where the players will learn and improve. Fortunately, the USC defense was not so good.

The big challenge for ND will be against Georgia the following week. If I had to guess, Kirby is spending more time studying ND than he is IU. As I said the other week, I'm super excited to see if the ND program has taken a step forward towards being one of the elite programs. To me, Georgia will be that test. Their defense is super athletic and flies to the ball. Their DB's are constantly trying to separate the WR's hands from the ball. Their D Line is quick and can get to the QB. In the biggest games over the years, the ND offense has always struggled to score 20 points or more. In these post season games, you have to be able to score points. So to me, this will say a lot about where the program is. Again, can't overlook IU and have to beat them first.

This is true but it's also nonsense. MF didn't overlook ANYBODY after NIU. He simply whooped em.

We can send a fruit basket to the NIU coach if we win the National Championship.

I seen them play. They execute well. Their coach is the real deal. Many seasons of HC experience.

Our D is probably closer to OSU/UM, who gave IU problems

And our O is somewhere in between UM and OSU from a passing perspective, and superior to both from a rushing perspective.

I’d say we win this but it might be closer than we like - 24-17, wouldn’t be out of the picture in my mind.

ND will be motivated. I actually like a normal weather day since I believe bad weather makes luck more of a factor. I expect our team to take care of business, one game at a time. Very exciting for both teams but I expect ND to prevail.

tOSU blitz schemes destroyed IU. If ND front can do the same, It'll save the DB's a lotta work.
