Former IU AD: ND faces “epic humiliation” if we lose.

Hope Freeman has our boys focused. I would hate to see us lose to these douchebags. One good season and they are now a self-proclaimed “emerging superpower,” according to their coach.

IU's former AD said that? What about the assistant volleyball coach or the RAs of IU's dorms?

What have they had to say about Friday's game?

Seriously though, I only read part of that article, but it said IU has only won 3 bowl games....ever.

Unbelievable.

Actually, losing to IU would be far easier to take than losing to NIU was

It would change the narrative on Freeman…on a dime.

Coaching contracts are documents which state how much you are paid when you are fired.

Term of the contract just affects the buyout. A 4 year extension doesn't necessarily increase the time the coach will be at the school, but it does increase the amount you have to pay to the coach when you fire him (or the amount another school has to pay in order to get him released from his contract).

Contract length doesn’t have all that much to do with it. Ask Norvell and Kelly…among others….

In which case, ND would be looking at the possibility of buying out both Freeman and Cignetti.

Just one possibility, of course.

That is true. But I think we cover the spread in this one.

IU is overrated. They were lucky not to lose to a crappy UM team. Every other team they played was pretty bad except for OSU, who beat them.

I know - but NIU! Don’t care: we are better and deeper than the Hoosiers, and there will be no ‘sea of red.’ Every red jacket pops in our stadium, so it will be fashionable to overstate their numbers, but they won’t have 10,000 in the seats.

I do as well…

IU has every right to be excited about this game. The loss to NIU ends the debate.

It's ND who has to prove they belong after so many disappointing moments in big games, especially the BCS and playoffs. . IU can flex and talk all they want. They may be a one and done program or this season may be a program builder for things to come. Who knows. MF needs to focus on our guys and how they all perform and not on what IU is saying and doing. The SC game was an awakening moment and a good warm up to the playoffs. There is absoulutely positively no excuse to lose thiis game Friday night.

IU had a player receive Heisman votes; Irish didn't. We should not be taking IU for granted like NIU

Not doing that - just saying, we are an objectively superior team, and should win.

That’s not arrogant, or taking them lightly. Just being realistic about what we should expect from this ND team on Friday.
